Nexton is at the heart of Charleston’s I-26 growth corridor. For employees of nearby companies such as Volvo, Mercedes Benz and Bosch, this means more than the chance for a beautiful new home and an easy commute. It means being in a community that has everything: schools, parks, grocery stores, entertainment and great local dining. It means a life that’s convenient, connected and complete.
The beauty of Nexton’s location is that it’s not only right on I-26 and close to major employers, it’s north of the more congested areas closer to Charleston. And in many cases, it allows for a reverse commute.
Boeing – 10 miles: Boeing’s nearly 8,000 employees go to work just down I-26 from Nexton.
Bosch – 15 miles: Bosch Charleston is the company’s largest manufacturing facility in the U.S.
Google – 10 miles: If you live in Nexton, you can commute to the data center without getting on the interstate.
Mercedes-Benz – 10 miles: Here’s where Mercedes-Benz makes its Sprinter and eSprinter vans.
Redwood Materials – 13 miles: Yet another major employer located on the I-26 corridor near Nexton.
Volvo – 13 miles: The Volvo Car US Operations campus is a straight shot up I-26 from Nexton.
A growing number of military families are discovering Nexton to be the perfect place to land (as it were). And a workable commute is just the beginning. Nexton offers a huge range of homes, from apartments to townhomes to single-family homes of all shapes and sizes. Life here is easy, thanks to the fact that schools, parks, pools, restaurants, shops and services are all right in the community. And speaking of community, Nexton is a place where a deep sense of stability and welcome is simply part of the landscape.
Education is one of the cornerstones that Nexton is built on. To us, you can’t really have a good neighborhood without good neighborhood schools. And thanks to being part of the Berkeley County School District, our neighborhood public schools — Nexton Elementary and Midtown Middle School — are some of the best. Add in a whole bunch of options for preschool, and what you have is a community that’s at the head of its class.
Learn Something New
You don’t need a medical study (although there are plenty of them) to tell you spending time outside is good for you. All it takes is a meandering stroll down one of Nexton's many trails. Or an afternoon spent at one of our neighborhood parks or pools. Or a vigorous round of pickleball at the Midtown Clubhouse. Then again, you could take yourself and a four-footed friend to the dog park or, maybe even better, to the Dog Park Bar at GoDog. We call that “sharing the health.”
Go Have Some Fun
This is what makes Nexton truly like no place else. It’s not just new homes. It’s new homes with old Lowcountry soul. It’s not just restaurants. It’s some of the region’s favorite local eateries. It’s neighborhood schools and neighborhood grocery stores and neighborhood parks. It’s healthcare services and fitness studios. It’s workplaces and gathering places. All linked together by a wide-wandering trail network. Creating a fresh new place that lives like a town that’s been here forever.
