Riverstone Park Disc Golf Course

Disc Golf

Polish up your putters. Stretch out your throwing arm. Prepare to glide. Thirteen holes of Disc Golf are now ready for play at Midtown’s Riverstone Park. Tucked into a quiet corner of our newest residential neighborhood, Riverstone Park Disc Golf Course is a serene setting for sharpening your game or just enjoying a friendly toss or ten with friends. Framed by tall pines and wetlands, birdsong will be your game’s soundtrack and dense Lowcountry forest your view.

What is disc golf?

We know you’ve heard of golf. It’s like that, but with flying discs. (A golf disc is like a frisbee, but a little more specialized for its purpose). Disc golf is played much like standard golf, with each turn beginning at a tee and ending at a target. In this case, the target is a basket at the end of the fairway instead of a hole. The game uses much of the same language, too. In disc golf you drive, approach, and putt. You score based on a par.

It’s an inexpensive, healthy, fun recreational activity for all ages and abilities, making it a superb addition to Nexton’s unique blend of healthy-living and outdoor-fun.

Disc Golf Course Guide

Spread across approximately 7 acres, the first four holes of the Riverstone Park Disc Golf Course are located closest to the entrance along Clear Blue Loop. The fifth takes players along a path through the tall pines through the power lines that opens to an impressively secluded section of Nexton. In fact, you may have missed its existence altogether!

There, an additional 8 holes are spread around and over berms and native plantings. All in, there are 13 holes of varying lengths. Why 13? Well, why not? Our course is meant to be a super-sized version of your backyard disc golf game. You can play 9, 13, or any number in between. Pick your favorites and re-throw them to make 18. Create a new supersized fairway of your own by throwing from tee 9 to the 13th hole (just give other groups on course a heads-up).
