At Nexton, of course. More details about the Charleston region’s most anticipated entertainment and dining establishment are trickling through, and we couldn’t wait to share. The Pickle Bar is almost ready for you!
What you’ll be dining on
Get ready for healthy spins on Southern favorites with a shareable menu of starters, salads, sandwiches, and main courses. We’re hyped for the aforementioned shrimp fritters, but also have our eyes (and stomachs) on the crispy chicken sandwich with house chow chow, catch of the day with moppin’ sauce, signature loaded fries, and smothered chicken with Hoppin’ John. Vegan friends: don’t worry. They’ll have yumminess for you, too, as well as treats for the kiddos.
Over at the bar, pickleball-themed cocktails will be the star. The ATP, a blueberry- and
lemon-infused rye old-fashioned, is made with Charleston-born Virgil Kaine Rye whiskey. The On-the-One is a Tito’s concoction of housemade lemonade topped with raspberry liqueur. Twelve taps will feature great local and regional breweries, including favorites from Holy City Brewing, Lo-Fi, and Tideland.
Have something to celebrate? Rent the event space
50 of your favorite people, a great meal, and a few rounds of your favorite game? You got it. The Pickle Bars private event space holds 35-50 people. Perfect for birthdays, graduations, business meetings, team building events, fundraisers, and holiday parties, every rental includes use of your very own private pickleball court.

Pickle-pro or newbie?
The Picklebar’s pickleball activities will be led by Jake Kusmider, a Charleston-native and touring pickleball professional. You can take private and group lessons. Join in organized games. Try a paddle on for size or sharpen your skills with clinics for beginners and advanced players. Watch or even compete in local/regional tournaments.
Fun seasonal events like glow ball (pickleball under black lights) and Can-in-Hand events (where, yes, you play pickleball with a beer in one hand!) are also in the works.
A place for all
There's no fee or membership to join to enjoy the Pickle Bar. And you don't have to play to enjoy the modern, fresh indoor-outdoor environment or delicious southern-inspired food. But chances are, after watching the fun happening on the nearby courts, you might be picking up a paddle yourself.
