Give Back This Holiday Season: Supporting Feed Berkeley and Local Families
The holidays often bring big, elaborate meals with all the fixings. But for many families, that’s not the reality. As food insecurity continues to rise across the U.S., Nexton is proud to support Feed Berkeley, a local nonprofit providing essential food assistance to our neighbors in need.
About Feed Berkeley
Located in Moncks Corner, Feed Berkeley provides groceries and essentials to families facing food insecurity. They operate with compassion and dignity - ensuring everyone who visits receives nutritious food and a warm welcome. The organization also partners closely with the Lowcountry Food Bank, which helps extend their reach and resources throughout the region.
Each year, Nexton contributes to the Lowcountry Food Bank through a major annual donation. This season, we’re proud to continue that spirit of giving by supporting Feed Berkeley’s efforts to ensure local families have access to healthy, nourishing meals.
How You Can Help
There are several simple ways to get involved this holiday season:
1. Drop Off Donations at The Greeting House
We’ve made it easy to give back right here in the neighborhood. From now through the end of December, The Greeting House will have a Feed Berkeley donation box available for non-perishable food items. Suggested donations include:
- Canned vegetables, beans, and fruit
- Pasta, rice, and boxed meals
- Peanut butter, jelly, and shelf-stable milk
- Holiday favorites like stuffing mix or cranberry sauce
Every item makes a difference. Even one can - or one box - can help put a meal on a neighbor’s table.
2. Donate Directly to Feed Berkeley
Prefer to make a financial contribution? Monetary donations help Feed Berkeley purchase fresh produce, meats, and dairy items that aren’t often included in food drives. Visit feedberkeley.org to learn more or to make a secure donation online.
3. Volunteer Your Time
Feed Berkeley welcomes helping hands to sort, pack, and distribute food to local families. It’s a wonderful way to connect with the community and see your impact firsthand.
