Nexton Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of Midtown Middle School
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – June 9, 2026 – Nexton proudly celebrated the official ribbon cutting of Midtown Middle School, a significant milestone for Berkeley County families and the continued growth of the Nexton community. The new school will welcome its inaugural class for the 2026–2027 academic year, providing a modern learning environment for students in grades 6–8 and expanding educational opportunities close to home. The official ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 9 and drew community leaders, educators, elected officials, future students, and area residents. According to Berkeley County School District, the school will serve approximately 1,100 students and help meet the needs of the rapidly growing region.
The celebration included remarks from Berkeley County School District Superintendent Dr. Anthony Dixon, along with Angela Davenport Berkeley School District Board of Education. William Fishburn of Brookfield Residential, recognized the collaborative effort behind bringing the new campus to the community.
