Nexton Marks a Year of Growth in 2025 While Looking Ahead to 2026

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. – February 6, 2026 – Nexton, an award-winning master-planned community in South Carolina, celebrates a highly successful year in 2025, marked by major milestones across residential development, retail expansion and community engagement. Looking ahead to the new year, Nexton is poised for continued growth and momentum in 2026.


“2025 was a pivotal year for Nexton, with the delivery of a new Publix-anchored retail center, more than 300 new home sites, and continued investment in the infrastructure and civic amenities that support a true town—schools, parks and essential services,” said Brent Gibadlo, senior vice president of development for Brookfield Residential. “As we look ahead to 2026, our focus remains on thoughtful planning that elevates the resident experience and sets a higher standard for master-planned development.”

RESIDENTIAL
Nexton saw continued residential growth through the opening of several model homes and expansion of neighborhoods and amenities.

• Nexton celebrated the sale of 473 homes landing the 25th spot on Zonda’s nationwide “best-selling master planned communities” list.
• Model Row additions were completed in April, offering potential home buyers an additional builder, three new models and 12 new plans, bringing to total to 92 plans available from 8 builders.
• Hammock Walk by Ashton Woods expanded with new amenities, including a walking trail, pickleball courts and a brand-new dog park.
• Stanley Martin Homes debuted its Jenkins townhome model in May, showcasing open living spaces and flexible floor plans.
• Saussy Burbank’s Cooper model was completed in April, with larger square footage, up to 5 bedrooms and a flowing plan highlighting style, functionality and outdoor living.
• Brookfield Residential opened its Towson model in March, a large single-family home with soaring two story great rooms and optional multigenerational floor plans.
• Nexton welcomed DRB Homes with the completion of a new Beaufain model home and 2 additional plans, all with main floor owner’s suites and bonus rooms available.
• A new phase of homesites in Midtown was released in December 2025 with larger lots, some deep and wooded, some over an acre in size.

COMMERCIAL
Nexton enhanced its offerings of destination for retail, dining and services by introducing a dynamic mix of commercial offerings, including:

• GoDog, a premier pet hospitality facility offering dog daycare, boarding and bathing.
• Marketplace at Nexton expanded significantly with a blend of popular national brands and locally owned businesses, including: Somm Wine Bar, Shimmer Nail Salon, Dance Moves of Charleston Sweet Frog, El Patron, Rotolo’s Craft Crust Pizza, Dunkin’ Donuts, Sherwin Williams along with an adjacent 7-Eleven convenience store and gas station.
• One Nexton, a vibrant hub for dining and retail, welcomed a Publix grocery store, Jersey Mikes, Brighton Park Dental, Naan Appetit, Ruby’s Bagels, Woodhaven Pizza, and Cielo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila and Fifth Third Bank and Swamp Fox Insurance Agency, The Packie Liquors, and Camelia One Nexton apartments in 2025.
• Downtown Nexton introduced Fu-O BBQ, Rita’s Italian Ice, Revive Health Studio, Clean Your Dirty Face, iNails and Discount Liquors.

AWARDS + ACCOLADES
Nexton earned regional and national recognition for its commitment to progressive design, livability, and sense of community:

• Nexton received the silver award from NAHB The Nationals 2025 for Master Planned Community in the U.S. with the gold award being announced in mid-February.
Builder’s Choice Design Awards selected Nexton as The Grand Winner for Top Master-Planned Community in the U.S.
• The Home Builder’s Association of South Carolina honored Nexton as South Carolina’s Best Master Planned Community at the 2025 Pinnacle Awards.
• Nexton was named Best Master Planned Community by Charleston Home Builders Association at the 2025 PRISM Awards

INNOVATION
Nexton remains committed to serving both current and future residents through the integration of innovative tools.

• In 2025, Home Telecom introduced SmartTown Wi-Fi to Nexton, reflecting commitment to smart community development and advanced connectivity.
• To promote ease of access, two new traffic lights were installed along Nexton Parkway at Midtown Avenue and Blueway Avenue.

LOOKING AHEAD
Nexton continues to set industry standards for master-planned communities across the U.S. The following can be expected from Nexton in 2026 and beyond:

• Nexton Middle School opens in 2026
• MUSC Health has begun construction on MUSC Health Nexton Medical Center, a cancer center and medical office building with rolling openings starting in 2027.
• Opus One Nexton Senior Living, Woodfield Townhomes and Nova One Nexton apartments break ground in early 2026.
• Midtown Commercial has broken ground with a specialty grocer, daycare and medical office opening in 2026.
• GoDog will launch its off-leash Dog Park & Bar, coming soon in Q1 2026.
• Neat and Noble Bourbon Bar is set to open in 2026 offering residents a new spirited spot in Downtown Nexton.
• Dog & Duck, a South Carolina staple serving food and spirits will open March 2026.
• A new concept food court and brewery, located in The Hub to start vertical construction in 2026.
